In everyday conversation, it is important to demonstrate a good level of communication. The language level used reflects one’s communication level. In general, a balanced use of formal and informal language is a sign of good communication skills.
In fact, it is important to note that using only formal language should be avoided in everyday conversations, as this makes the conversations dull. Similarly, using only informal language gives the impression of having poor communication skills and a low social standing. In order to avoid these drawbacks, it is advisable to combine formal and informal language without coming to exaggerations.
As for you, avoid being too informal when speaking in conversations. Do not talk like somebody who has never heard a school bell ring. On the contrary, ensure to use some big words and elegant structures from time to time.
Of course, do not be too formal, either. But strike a balance, and spice up your conversations with informal words, or even slang. As such, your conversations shall sound mature and fascinating.
