You who hinder me from stumbling
Like a mother carrying a babe that she is fondling
Here you are, o road, showing me my destiny
Leading me with no shame but with love and scrutiny

Throughout the millennia that have passed quietly
You have served Humankind sufficiently
For albeit you have replaced savannahs
You have elided all confusion that stretched banners

By your splendour that is glowing with might
Even when it is dark at night
You look vastly pleasant
For your attractiveness is abundant

Through you, cars can pass in happiness
And you serve them notwithstanding their heaviness
That they can get to bounty destinations
And that their lives can savour ameliorations

Early in the morning men arise
And they do not give a damn to the colour you advertise
Yet they come to you with hope and assiduity
And you convey them to places of their duty
